Reggae on the River!

On the weekend of July 16th and 17th, 2011, the Mateel Community Center is proud to present the 27th annual Reggae On The River at Benbow Lake State Recreation Area in southern Humboldt County, CA.  An internationally renowned showcase of the best in reggae and world music, this year’s event will feature two stages (an ROTR first!) and is shaping up to be a good one.

We are excited to announce the entirety of this year’s line-up:  Redwood Stage Saturday: Opening prayer with Goodshield, Mystic Roots, Native Elements, Pashon Minott, Perfect, Annette Brissett, Bushman, J Boog, Kymani-Marley & Gramps Morgan.
River Stage Saturday: Ambush, the Impalers, Zili Misik, Indubious, Sahra Indio, Edi Fitzroy, HR (Human Rights).

Redwood Stage Sunday: Jade Steel, Zili Misik, Clinton Fearon, Gondwana, Queen Ifrica, Tony Rebel, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80.
River Stage Sunday: 7th Generation Rise, Sahra Indio, Indubious, The Alliez, JahSun & Ishi Dube, SILA, Army, Rootz Underground.

Camping for Reggae on the River will be at Cooks Valley. There is a weekend pass, a day pass, or a single night pass available for purchase. Cooks Valley offers river access, camping in the shade of the redwoods and showers (cold). Shuttles run from the campground to the event site. There are other additional campgrounds in the area as well.

For more information and tickets go online to www.reggaeontheriver.com. In Humboldt and Mendocino counties tickets are also at the usual outlets. Advance tickets are advised as this festival sells out.  Single day tickets will go on sale June 15th if the event is not sold out by this point.
