I'm A Trewlany Citizen - Charly Black Mixtape!

Proud ‘Country Bwoy’ and veteran Dancehall DJ Charly Black prepares to release his first mixtape for fans on Friday May 25th, 2012.

Mixed by Easy Peasy Sound and DJ Unique, Black takes fans on a musical journey beginning with his inner lingua letting fans know that no matter what, he will keep pressing forward.  The next track, “Times Like These,” is set to a Reggae riddim with lyrics that warn us to ‘not be fools’ in times like this, and more importantly, have faith.

Dancehall classics spanning the last few years to present run the rest of the mixtape highlighting hits such as “Rich Dis Year,” “Too Blessed” and “Badman Nuh Bleach.”  It also features the ladies favourite and uptempo fun song “Cool and Deadly Wine” from the Caribbean Girls riddim produced by Bambino Muzik and F.R.E.E. Entertainment.

Expanding his catalog and vocal versatility, Black includes the Dancehall ballad “Fall in Love Again,” a song dedicated to a special lady who has been hurt in the past and has finally met a man who wants to play a special role in her life.

Of the mixed tape, New York’s Nigel Angus says “We had a lot of fun putting this mix together.  Charly has a lot of hit records that his fans love, so we wanted to put those hits in one place for them!  The mixtape is madd – no trupidniss!”

Coming from the Trelawny community, Charly makes sure to put his foundation on the map with the song “Anyweh We Deh” and “Party We Seh” which features Trelawny Citizens who adds additional flavor to the chunes.

Statement from Busy Signal

STATEMENT FROM BUSY SIGNAL
May 25, 2012

In this a time of reflection, I would like to thank my fans who have supported me through this difficult situation and who will continue to support me. Your messages and prayers via social networks and via members of my team are what have brought light to the darkness of my cell.

I have never admitted that I was involved in any drug deal or drug arrangement.  I waived my rights to an extradition trial here in Jamaica, so that I can return to the US to face a charge of absconding bail ONLY.  This incident took place ten(10) years ago, before i even considered being an artiste.

As you can understand, this is a difficult time for me, however during my time away, my fans will not be left with a void – there are several unreleased tracks that will definitely keep you“busy” until my return. I recently released my album Reggae Music Again, which debuted at number 5 on the Billboard Reggae charts. On my recent tour of Amsterdam and Paris, we shot elements for the video to the title track of the album. It features cameos from Marcia Griffiths, Queen Ifrica and Anthony B and that will be released in a couple of weeks.

For my fans overseas, my management team has been in dialogue with promoters who have all shown their support for me and my situation and for that I thank them.

For my family, you have stood by me through thick and thin and I know you will continue to do so. In my time away, I have made the necessary arrangements with my management team to have you taken care of until my return.

To my band. Hi-Voltage, you have toured the world with me and have been a tower of strength. Continue to make good music until I return, cause the mission will continue.

I know that my facebook page has been inactive for a while, but, starting this week, Shane Brown, head of JukeBoxx management team, will assume direct control of my twitter account -@busysignal_turf  and my facebook page  - www.facebook.com/OneBusySignal. I will be kept updated so please continue to send your love, support and prayers through these channels, as they keep me going.

To my legal team, KD Knight, Bert Samuels and Roxanne Mars, your positive words and unfailing belief and supportin me and my case have made this situation a little easier to bear. Thank you very much.

Finally my friends, my fans and my family, thank you again from the depths of my heart. Please keep me in your prayers.  “We not going down, cause God alone controls my destiny”

Kreayshawn's "Breakfast"!

**KREAYSHAWN’S DEBUT ALBUM SOMETHIN ‘BOUT KREAY
TO BE RELEASED AUGUST 14, 2012**

*THE SELF-DIRECTED VIDEO FOR “BREAKFAST” AVAILABLE NOW
Watch the video for "Breakfast" here: http://www.kreayshawn.com*

Following a year full of shows, travel, press, photo shoots and personal projects, Kreayshawn (one of 2012's most talked about sensations) will release her debut album Somethin ‘Bout Kreay on August 14, 2012* via Columbia Records. Drawing inspiration from a myriad of genres, including everything from sissy bounce to juke to 80's rap, to pop and beyond, Kreayshawn's album is a reflection of her vast musical taste.

This past year has been a flurry of excitement and new experiences for the 22 year-old Oakland, CA native, who abruptly gained the attention of millions when the video for her undeniably catchy anti-materialism anthem, "Gucci Gucci," became an instant viral hit. “Gucci Gucci” garnered over 200,000 views within its first 48 hours last May and reached over 2 million views in just two weeks, with over 34 million views to date. Kreayshawn worked on her debut album in between performances around the world, including shows in Japan, the UK, France, Canada and US major festivals like Voodoo, Popped!, Bamboozle and The Vice Noisey tour (which she co-headlined with Neon Indian). Says Kreayshawn, "I feel so accomplished, having finished my album; I got to travel the world, perform for crowds of tens of thousands, be on covers of magazines all over the world, and finish a whole album in less than a year."

The video for her new single, “Breakfast,” directed and produced by Kreayshawn, was shot in Atlanta and features 2 Chainz. "My favorite part about the video shoot was the breakfast party in the kitchen. It was so colorful and just how I envisioned it when I wrote the treatment." With the album release date now on the horizon, Kreayshawn's excited to share her eclectic style with the public. Says Kreayshawn, "I just want everyone to be ready for a mystical musical journey through genre and sound. There's just somethin 'bout Kreay..."

“Breakfast” will be available digitally on May 22nd* here: http://smarturl.it/BreakfastByKreay
International dates may vary

Update Re Mavado from Natasha Von Castle

Update:  Personal Statement from Natasha Von Castle re Mavado

On Tuesday May 15th, 2012, I issued a statement regarding Mavado which was shared on the social networking site Twitter via @L3Magazine as well as www.thefamousface.blogspot.com.  In my personal statement I made reference to a ‘source’ who provided me with information regarding Mavado and his inability to perform in Toronto, as well as the artist being dropped from Young Money Records, and a criminal charge which has resulted in an arrest warrant.

I called my source to confirm that the information was indeed correct to which I was told that it was.  We had several exchanges via blackberry, and I was assured the accuracy of the information.  The source of my information was Ron Nelson and www.reggaemania.com.

I have since been in contact with Mavado through his Canadian Agent Rahim.  My information that Mavado will not be performing in Toronto on May 25th is true, however, Mavado has not been dropped by his label Young Money Records, and, there is no arrest warrant for the artists’ arrest.  That information from Ron Nelson was incorrect.

In my many years of being a journalist, and running L3 Magazine, my professionalism has always been to and of the highest standard.  I am not in the business of spreading false information; I take my job and my voice in the Caribbean-Urban community very seriously.

I personally apologize to Mavado, DJ Khaled, Baby and the Cash Money Records label for the mis-information expressed by me and L3Magazine, and www.L3Magazine.com.

R. Kelly's 11th Studio Album News!

Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter and producer R. KELLY, will release his 11th studio album, Write Me Back, on June 26TH* (RCA). Write Me Back will be available in Standard and Deluxe editions; the latter will include 4 bonus tracks, while the physical version will have special packaging that will include a postcard for fans to actually write R. Kelly back. Both versions of the album will be available for pre-order on May 29th at select retailers.

“Share My Love,” the album’s first single, recently grabbed the #1 spot at Urban Adult radio. Kelly’s newly released second single, “Feelin’ Single,” described as “classic Kelly, full of infectious hooks and buttery smooth grooves” (Prefixmag.com), will impact Urban Adult radio on May 21st and 22nd. The single will be available for purchase at all digital providers on May 29th.

Write Me Back is the follow up to 2010’s critically acclaimed Love Letter, which celebrated the music of the 50s and 60s. The new album represents the natural progression of Kelly’s musical time machine, recalling the sultry and seductive sounds associated with such icons as Barry White, Marvin Gaye and Teddy Pendergrass, among others. Like its Love Letter predecessor, Write Me Back is also a celebration of love.

From classic R&B to hip-hop, inspirational to gospel, no other artist has covered the vast array of human emotions more than R. Kelly. With a track record that boasts over 40 million albums sold worldwide, 6 #1 albums, 11 #1 singles, 3 Grammy Awards, 8 Soul Train Awards, 6 American Music Awards and 6 Billboard Music Awards, R. Kelly has rightfully earned his title as the undisputed “King of R&B.” In 2011, Billboard named R. Kelly the #1 most successful R&B artists of the last 25 years! When not in the spotlight, Kelly has written and produced hit songs for Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Maxwell, Britney Spears and countless others. More recently, Kelly was tapped to write and produce original music for the upcoming Sparkle soundtrack.
