Dear Judge James Moody;
In my previous letter to you (June 11th, 2011), I asked for a reduction in the sentence given to Mark ‘Buju Banton’ Myrie for his conviction on the charge of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute. Today, June 23rd, I write you a letter of thanks.
Today we learned that instead of serving the suggested 15 year sentence, Buju will serve 10 years and for that, we the community, are thankful.
It is still my hope that this case has ‘touched’ you on one or some levels just the way Buju’s music has touched the international Caribbean community.
The only time I hope our paths cross again, is to hear that you are enjoying great Reggae music while on vacation in the Caribbean!
