Montreal's biggest Caribbean Carnival is back!

Carifiesta is back and carnival fever will once again take over the streets of Montreal on Saturday, July 9th, 2011.
Carifiesta is Montreal’s Caribbean Carnival and the only event of its kind in Quebec. Since its creation 36 years ago, Carifiesta has become the uncontested great carnival of Montreal. This major summer event annually attracts more than one hundred thousand visitors each year which ranks it as the second largest Caribbean carnival in Canada and one of the most attended carnivals in North America.
The Carifiesta will be taking place this year on Saturday, July 9th, 2011. The festivities kick off at noon and run until 5pm. The parade starts at the corner of Guy and runs along René-Lévesque Boulevard until Sanguinet. Lots of beautiful costumes will be on display, colourful floats playing Soca, Calypso and Reggae music as well as the sweet sounds of the Steel Pan orchestras. This year, there will also be a FREE ice cream giveaway for everyone courtesy of the TD Bank. Sponsorship partners of this year's Carifiesta include: The City of Montreal, TD Bank, True Juice, CKUT, Community Contact, and Caribbean Curry House.
CCFA is a not-for-profit corporation federally incorporated since 1995 and registered in the province of Quebec. The organization has been producing the annual Montreal Carifiesta parade for the past 15 years and many of its members have been involved since its creation, 36 years ago. Due to its broad community base, CCFA is uniquely positioned to deliver such an artistically rich event as the Carifiesta parade which has such a diverse cultural appeal. With the CCFA, the strength relies in its people!
