This week is all rolled in one!

Greetings!

This week, as you've probably guessed, is another
one of those weeks, where things are crazy and
hectic to the point that neither I, Niyah or Hannen
(Team L3) are able to give you our full attention the
way you normally know us to be.

This past weekend we had Beres and his Toronto
tour stop which was bananas!  We hosted a Bar-B-Q
which was as delicious as it was fun, and of course
the performance which was amazing!  There are a
few pictures at the end of the e-mail in case you'd
like to see.

With that said, one weeks worth of music distribution
will be contained in this e-mail.

Monday's profile would have been Kirk Bennett a.k.a.
Mr. Kirkledove Records.  Kirks drumming performance
on the Beres tour is nothing short of phenomenal!
This is a serious dude who, if you get a chance to
see perform - do it!  He is that bad!  Get re-acquainted
with Kirks 'Hot Peppa Riddim' which features Mr. Vegas,
Anthony B, Ce'Cile and more at 320kbps here:

On Tuesday, Jahbandis would have been the profile.
There has been a steady growth in the DJ's taking
to Jahbandis style of music.  To show that the group
is not afraid to embrace Dancehall, they have released
a chune called "Ben Up!"

Building their lyrics to a Dancehall-ish riddim, the
group delivers conscious lyrics with the theme of
letting go of the 'back biting' foolishness!

Available at 320kbps here:

Wednesday's e-blast features new music from Kanye
ft. Beyonce & Charlie Wilson, Lloyd, Mikey Factz,
Spragga Benz ft. Kardinal Offishal & Swizz Beatz,
Tank, Trey Songz and German artist Tuklan ft. Beenie
Man & Firetime.  All available at 320kbps here:

Thursday's e-blast a.k.a. Throwback Thursday is
the Revolution riddim produced by Fifth Element
Records and features artists such as Gyptian, Sizzla,
Turbulence, George Nooks, Richie Spice and more
which is available at 320kbps here:

Friday's e-blast a.k.a. Classic Friday is the Boops
Riddim a.k.a. 54-46 Riddim as a reminder that there
are some people in the world who are proud to be
a Boops!

P.S.  I'll be back on Saturday with some exclusives
from the performers at the Ottawa Reggae Festival.
I miss you too!  :)

►►► Classic Friday! ►►► The Hottest Year!

Greetings!

The year 2010 has gone on record as being
one of the hottest in history.  Not since the
1980's have countries like Canada, the UK
and Europe seen such heat.  Makes one say
'it's hot this year!'

In 1991, Dancehall artist Dirtsman coined the
phrase 'hot this year' with the recording of his
chune of the same name.

Produced by Tan-Yah Records, the riddim,
artists and lyrics were hot.  The attitude of
the riddim caused patrons in the Dancehall
to want to put their hand in the air to give the
selector an immediate fawud.  Imagine the
vibes when Dirtsman comes over a well tuned
sound Dj'ing:  "Mih come hot this year / not
even water caan cool me...."  Kaboom!

Other artists on the riddim include General
Degree, Admiral Tibett, Papa San and Pinchers
to name a few.

Broadcasting at 320kbps, catch the Hot
This Year Riddim here:

♥ HOTTT New Music! ♥ Dionne Blaize - Gone Forever + Take The Lead + Bonus Download...!

Greetings!

Miss Dionne Blaize has just released three
new chunes that she's really excited and
eager to share with you!

The first is "Gone Forever" which is a song
about a woman who didn't tell her beau how
much she loves him, then unexpectedly he
passed away.  Definitely a lyrically deep
chune.

Dionne's second chune, "Take The Lead"
ft. Culture Smith, is a beautiful interplay
between a man and a woman where the
woman beautifully tells her man that she's
ready to trust in him, and asks him to take
the lead!  Sweet chune!

Dionne's bonus chune, "Ba Mwen Les Pou
Pas" is a sweet Soca / Zouk vibe chune that's
sung in English and Creole French!

Broadcasting at 320kbps, catch Dionne Blaize's
three chunes here:

♦ Loud Disturbance Records Presents ♦ Busy Signal - Good Good Good + Gyal Need A Man!

Greetings!

In my best voice (lord knows I'm the lead
singer for the Tone Deafs so bear with me),
I sing:

Busy, Busy, Busy / can't you see / sometimes
your words just hypnotise me / and I just love
your flashy ways...!  Ha!  I jest, I joke, I laugh
but now I get serious!

Busy Signal's two new chunes, produced by
Mafia McKoy for Loud Disturbance Records
are called "Good Good Good," and "Gyal Need
A Man" and both are certified MADDDDly and
BADDDDly!

In the first chune, Busy playfully performs a
lyrical tongue twister by telling a girl about
what he thinks of her, and instead of being raw
with the lyrics, the nickname becomes 'good
good good.'  Mad!  In the second chune Busy
is a little more direct, but builds the song off
of a nursery rhyme.

Remember the rhyme 'farmer in the dell?!'  Add
a hand clap in the background, and a loose
interpolation of Boney M's "Rivers of Babylon"
style of driving bass, and we have the recipe for
yet another HIT record for Busy Signal, and another
notch in the belt for Mafia McKoy, founder of
Loud Disturbance Records.

Broadcasting at 320kbps, catch both chunes,
"Good Good Good" and "Need A Man" produced
by Mafia McKoy for Loud Disturbance Records
here:

P.S.  Impressing fans even more, Busy recorded
a chune called "Busy Latino" for his album D.O.B
Busy captured authentic Latin vibes, and the chune
became a hit record in Latin America.  Today,
Busy released a remix of the chune which is also
available for download.

My statement:  Busy is the Baddest ... Period...

♠ Brand New Music! ♠ Strugglas - Party We Party!

Greetings!

After working a long week, and dealing with
the stresses that come with work, there is
one thing we need ... stress relief!

Reggae artist Strugglas understands that,
so, built to the Shanty Town riddim, Strugglas
gives us the chune "Party We Party!"

Showing off a playful side, Strugglas tells us
what he goes through during the week, and
what he does on the weekend.  The HOT
lingo from the chune is 'ah party we put pon
repeat!'  Kaboom!

Produced for the Roaring Lion record label,
Strugglas gives DJ's a chune to add to their
Shanty Town riddim collection!

Fast Facts:  Since being introduced to the
network, Strugglas has had over 900 digital
downloads, and his single, "Dih Yutes" is
currently sitting at #12 on the Top 20 Reggae
Chart.  His chune is being played on Hits 92
FM, RJR, Hot 102 FM and Roost FM in
Jamaica, as well as CKLN, CHRY and Island
Beats Radio with DJ Bubbles in Canada.
In the UK, the chune is receiving regular rotation
on Jamrock radio with Lady Loy, and Reggae
4 Us.com with Sir Daddy D.  Not too bad!

Broadcasting at 320kbps, catch Strugglas with
the chune "Party" on the Roaring Lion record
label here:

CARIBANA™ ARTS GROUP (CAG) Chair Speaks to 88.1 CKLN FM's Norman Otis Richmond

CARIBANA™ ARTS GROUP (CAG) Chair Speaks to
Norman Otis Richmond

The Caribana parade and festivities have come to an end, however, planning and public education have begun for next year's 44th anniversary.

CARIBANA™ ARTS GROUP (CAG) Chair, Henry ‘King Cosmos’ Gomez, will join Norman Otis Richmond on 88.1 CKLN on the show Saturday Morning Live.  From 12 to 1p.m. on Saturday August 7th, the two will discuss community response to this year's festival and to give a perspective on the Festival Management Committee.   The CAG Chair also plans to set the record straight and educate the public on the difference between the Festival Management Committee (FMC) and CARIBANA™ ARTS GROUP (CAG), formerly the Caribbean Cultural Committee – CCC, who are the owner of the CARIBANA™ Trademark.

Norman Otis Richmond, whose program Saturday Morning Live has been on the air for many years, welcomes the discussion by saying “Caribana needs to be discussed because of its historic, economic and cultural importance to the Black and Caribbean community.”

Listen to the broadcast live by logging on to www.ckln.fm at 12pm EST, 5pm GMT, 9am PST.

About CARIBANA™ ARTS GROUP (CAG)

CARIBANA™ ARTS GROUP (CAG), formerly known as the Caribbean Cultural Committee (CCC) was incorporated in 1967 for the purpose of celebrating Canada’s Centennial. The CAG is the legal owner of the CARIBANA™ Festival, and is chaired by Henry Gomez. In 2006, the City of Toronto appointed the Festival Management Committee to manage the CARIBANA™ Festival for one year.

Classic Friday - She Purposely Kills!

Greetings!

When you hear the words 'black widow,' there
are three things that (usually) come to mind.
One is the character 'Natasha Romanova,'created
by Stan Lee for the Marvel comic series.  Second
might be the spider known for consuming her
male counterpart after he has courted her.  In
crime, the term 'black widow' is given to women
who kill their husbands for financial gain.

In Dancehall, when we say 'Black Widow,' we're
referring to the 1998 riddim produced by Shane
Richards for the Shines Record Label.  The
riddim was also co produced by famed duo
Steely & Clevie.

The riddim featured Beenie Man, General Degree,
Daddy Screw and Terror Fabulous, some of
Dancehall's greatest talents!  Some of the sweetest
aspects to the riddim is the bassline, organ riff
and the off beat of the drum pattern.  Maddd!

In 2007 the riddim was re-loaded with Bounty
Killer, I-Wayne, Vybz Kartel, Munga and Lutan
Fyah.  How did they do compared to the original
line up?  You tell me!

Broadcasting at 320kbps, catch the Black Widow
riddim here:
