Mighty Crown Leaves European Fans Wanting More!

Mighty Crown "The Far East Rulaz" wrapped up an explosive month-long European tour at the close of June.  And from the looks of things, Japan's most coveted sound system has no intention of slowing down. Mighty Crown's long overdue European Tour, which consisted of heavy hitting performances in 20 cities, attracted thousands of diehard followers. After loads of requests from promoters and fans, the tour went off without a hitch and was a bonafide success.  Mighty Crown was thrilled to return to Europe after taking a hiatus from touring to solidify business deals.

As one of the industry's most accomplished sound systems, Mighty Crown has a wealth of accolades under their belt, including sponsorships, endorsements, stadium shows, a clothing brand, and a record label. With Dancehall and sound system culture at the core of Mighty Crown's existence, the celebrated sound highlights these elements in every facet of their empire.  "We are one  of the few camps that approach this craft as business, therefore, long term planning and strategies are put in place to ensure the longevity and strength of the Mighty Crown brand," says Mighty Crown's manager Garfield "Chin" Bourne of Irish and Chin.  "Now that we have accomplished gaining the attention of major companies and corporations, we are glad to be back on the road."

Mighty Crown's recent stint in Europe was a special treat for fans, as the sound's core selectors Masta Simon and Sami T, appeared together on the tour.  Over the span of their career, it's been rare for Masta Simon and Sami-T to tour together.  But because of the demands of their many fans, the brothers united for the highly anticipated tour. No one was disappointed!  The powerhouse sound laced venues night after night with music ranging from foundation and culture, to the latest Dancehall. The crowds consistently roared at the selections played. "Overall, people in Europe have a strong appreciation of Reggae music and it was a pleasure to play for them. I am happy that I had a chance to unleash some big Mighty Crown dubs for the first time ever," says Sami T.

On the recent tour, "The Far East Rulaz" landed in various hot spots through out Germany, England and Switzerland. According to Mighty Crown, "Europe was all about music and vibes from the day we touched down."   Masta Simon declared "Every stop had good vibes. We never realized that we had so many fans all over Europe!  We are truly blessed."  Since Mighty Crown started touring in Europe several years ago, they have become one of the market's most requested sounds. The sound plans to return to Europe in December 2012.  While Masta Simon and Sami T were in Europe, New York based member Ninja had numerous U.S. performances. Additionally, the selector has been holding down his role as co-host of the popular Sound Chat Radio program.

It's been an eventful Spring and Summer for Mighty Crown, who will be featured in an upcoming campaign of footwear giant Clarks, one of the reasons behind their break from touring. This endorsement is on the heels of high profile media features on Vibe.com and Sirius XM Radio's "The Joint."

L3 Magazine, July 2012 ft. Don Corleon!

L3 Magazine July 2012 Edition Dishes on Don Corleon, Super Woman Karyn White, Susie McLean, 2012 Mission Catwalk Winner Gregory Williams, Jamaican Olympic Fashion designed by Cedella Marley, Patra’s return and more!

Canada’s #1 Caribbean-Urban Magazine, L3, launched the July, 2012 edition of their publication today.

This month’s edition of the popular online magazine features the musical mastery of Don Corleon.  Interviewed by Tricia ‘ZJ Sparks’ Spence, Don opens up about his music, in particular the recording process which some find grueling but the industry deems perfection.

Though he is the man behind several of Jamaica’s largest musical releases Don remains a very private producer so this rare glimpse into his inner workings is much appreciated and a read that his millions of fans around the world will appreciate!

R&B is one of America’s most beloved forms of musical expression.  L3 spoke to Karyn White whose classic 1990’s hit, “Super Woman” is a mainstay on radio still to this day.  With the release of her new album Carpe Diem (Seize the Day), L3 learned that Karyn’s message in music has been adapted to the times, complimenting her status as a classic R&B vocalist.

Karyn is energetic, funky and so full of life that her personality will infect you!  Catch every word from the fabulous artist and find out why she’s been away for 20 years….

Toronto’s Susie McLean has a voice that is the calm after a thunderous storm!  Our Jennifer Menster caught up with the Jazz vocalist after her performance and feature at the 2012 staging of the Toronto International Music Summit where Susie wowed industry executives and fans alike with her soulful and tickilishly playful voice.  All Jazz lovers will appreciate Susie and her take on life.

Mission Catwalk has just crowned their 2012 winner who is the absolutely talented Gregory Williams.
The young designer had the staying power to endure the competition, and now, has the chance to head to London Fashion Week 2012, and will work with esteemed Trinidad & Tobago Master Savile Row Tailor Andrew Ramroop.  We have the exclusive details about Gregory’s win, and his highlight reel of his designs.

Cedella Marley, daughter of Bob Marley continues to keep her Father’s legacy alive while firmly establishing her undeniable talent and eye for Fashion.

Designing the 2012 Olympic gear for Team Jamaica, Cedella takes Jamaica’s National pride to needle and fabric as she conveys the essence, might and resilience of the countries’ elite competitors.  You will definitely enjoy the photo spread which includes top Olympian, Usain Bolt!

Dancehall artist Patra has been busy as of late with her fans buzzing about her return.  We asked her how it feels to have such an outpouring of love.  Her surprise answer and more is enclosed.

Rounding out the musical element, L3 reviews the new album from Courtney John, Delly Ranx, Kardinal Offishall and the Mind Change riddim produced by Inspired Music.  Our Centrefold editor, Jerome Dupont highlights the beauty of Sabrena, while our travel editor explores the worlds’ top 10 smallest cities.  Natasha Thomas, our Caribbean Affairs editor, keeps us current on the Caribbean’s top artists which is detailed in her charts.

All this and more in the July, 2012 edition of www.L3Magazine.com.  Media can Preview L3 Magazine - Interactive edition here: http://bit.ly/MOssAO and download the PDF here: http://www.mediafire.com/?xaase81n7idolli
