Greetings!
Continuing with the exploration of riddims
from the 1980's, sees this Classic Friday
feature the Py Py Love riddim!
Produced by Oswald ‘Ossie’ Hibbert for
his own label Ossie Hibbert Productions, the
riddim is light and sweet, and features the
vocals of Bunny General, Little Twitch,
Ninjaman and Frankie Paul to name a few.
Py Py, according to Little Twitch (who named
the riddim), is a type of love a man receives
from a girl who doesn't respect a man due
to his not having money, cars, house and the
like.
The Py Py Love riddim has a nice 'rock an
come een' vibe which will bring back sweet
memories for audiences who went out when
'dance was nice!'
Ossie Hibbert grew in the Reggae industry
as a keyboard player for the Professionals,
The Aggrovators and the Revolutionaries.
He's recorded several albums, and has worked
with artists Gregory Isaacs, Johnny Clarke
and Linval Thompson. Later in his career,
Ossie worked as a producer for Channel One
Studios.
Broadcasting at 320kbps, catch the riddim
here:
Fast Facts: Ossie is still active as a producer
having worked with Chaka Demus & Pliers, Errol
Dunkley and Peter Hunningale...
