HOTTT New Reggae! Iba Mahr – Great is H.I.M.!

One of the most prolific voices to come out of Jamaica from the next generation of Culture Reggae artists is the voice of Iba Mahr.

Coming from Linstead, St. Catherine, Iba’s voice is rising to significance as he sings only of true righteousness and upliftment which is having a growing influence on younger generation Rasta’s, both Baldhead and dreads.  It’s hard to believe that this artist with such a commanding voice is in his young 20’s!

The first single being shared is called “Great is H.I.M.” The song has received critical acclaim within Jamaica, and helped to earn the young artist an appearance on the Reggae Sumfest stage.

Drawing on the energy of the teachings of Haile Selassie, and Iba’s own overstanding (which includes his outlook on a positive livity), Iba encourages listeners with these lyrics:

So great is Him, great is the king of all kings / giver of life / for black / for white / for red green and gold / Ethiopia stands bold / while Marcus prophecies unfold / never you wait for the time is now / can’t wait till judgement come / tomorrow never forward / tomorrow never forward / in my Father’s house there are many mansions / and if it wasn’t so / then I wouldn’t say so…

Placing those lyrics on an intensely bass driven riddim, the chune is an ultimate praise chune to Jah.
