One of the finest voices to emerge in the Lover’s Rock genre is that of Stephen Souza a.k.a. The Reggae Gentleman. The crooner, who hails from New York City brings maturity to his music, striking the right balance with younger and mature audiences alike! The release ofhis newest single “Sounds Explosion” puts Stephen front and centre on the musical map!
Born in England, many Reggae enthusiasts agree that Stephen was born into Lover’s Rock. This thoughtis solidified with the fact that The Reggae Gentleman was raised in Manchester,Jamaica where he began his musical career with his high school band Phase II.
Moving to the United States to pursue his degree, the Reggae stars vocal skills added to Danny Dreads song “Respect Due,” and stage performances were shared with Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Freddie McGregor, Beenie Man, Sean Paul and more.
This past week, Stephen performed for the Music Brings Life organization(the blood awareness organization based in New York) in an effort to increase awareness in the Black American, Latino and Caribbean communities in New York to give blood. Of his performance and music career Stephen said “Every time I have the chance to perform I’m one step closer to achieving my dream, so to pursue my dream and help bring awareness to this great cause; I am doubly blessed!”
