Tracey Night Makes it a Night of Melodies in Midtown

With her international fan base growing, and core support from her fans in Florida rock solid, Tracey Night makes it a Night of Melodies in Midtown with a live intimate performance on August 10^th, 2013 at SOHO Studio’s (2136 NW 1^st Ave – Miami, FL 33127). 

Hosted by DJ Meat and produced by Allegro Entertainment, Tracey will give music lovers a vocal variety as she performs ballads as well as her Dancehall bangers including her popular song “Talk The Tings Dem” and “Missing You.”  Of her upcoming performance Tracey says “I’m really looking forward to this performance at SOHO Studio’s.  Performing for my fans and having them get to know me better through my music is important to me; I’m happy and can’t wait for August 10^th!”  Tracey will be joined by DJ Zion and Déjà vu who will add additional entertainment.

The summer season is upon us, and L3 Magazine’s front cover feature, Leftside Dr. Evil gives us a lot to talk about!  Natasha Von Castle met up with the artist while in Toronto, and the multi talented producer and artist allowed her to go in depth as she explored how he got his start in music, and what it felt to work with legends Gregory Isaac, Dennis Brown and John Holt from such a young age.  Question:  do you think about Gregory and Dennis when you make music today? 

Beyond that, Leftside shares his feelings on producing some of the most significant riddims of our times, as well as his work with Don Corleon and Elephant Man on the famous song “Pon the River.”  Of all the instruments Leftside could specialize in, he chose the drums.  Where did he get his first set of drums?!  That answer led to a great story and one that will have readers talking for some time!

Dancehall artist Chedda took some time off and is back with a more developed sound.  Tricia ‘ZJ Sparks’ Spence sat down with the artist and asked about some of the lessons he’s learned so far.  His answer in short is ‘experience teaches wisdom’ which is a refreshing surprise from an artist just touching his 20’s.

Extending her contribution, Tricia gives us an exclusive look at producer Askelle who is the creator of several hit Dancehall riddims associated to famous producers.  What makes Askelle’s story significant is his fight to receive credit for his work and the fact that he is visually impaired.  This is a man who truly sees music.

February, 2013 has shaped up to be one of the most exciting for fans and lovers of Soca!  As Carnival season is upon us, Team L3 traveled to Trinidad & Tobago to speak one of the industries hottest talents, Ms. Patrice Roberts!

Interviewed by Tricia ‘ZJ Sparks’ Spence, Patrice opens up on an intimate level as she shares some of the pressures and stresses she faced as a newbie to the business while learning from the master of modern day Soca, Machel Montano.  The artist also gives us a peak into her work out regiment which keeps her in fabulous shape.

What did Patrice say when Sparks asked “Your beauty is rather unique, has any modeling agency approached you or designers to model their line?”

Dawn Richard is no stranger to the spotlight.  Being in P. Diddy’s group Danity Kane, she was front and centre with the Rap mogul and didn’t disappoint.  With the group dismantling, Dawn has found incredible success as a solo artist.

Interviewed by the UK’s Portia Clarke, Dawn explains her new sound and her reasoning behind calling her fans ‘Hearts.’  She also explains why being an independent artist without a label was a blessings in disguise, giving her more bargaining power.

Readers will appreciate Dawn’s intelligence as she tells Portia “Usually when an artist is coming out and they have an album, which gets the response, but for us to have an EP and get this, it was great.  With the distribution deal, it worked out better because we have more of the sales revenue and don’t have to go through a middle person which is the label who would take more money, and change the direction of what we wanted to accomplish….”

Rounding out the interviews, Heike takes a trip to the Bahamas to speak to Peter Runks who arguably is the #1 Reggae export from the island.  Peter is open and candid as he shares his experiences in the industry and the support he’s received from home and abroad.

Bio: Pianist, lyrical scribe and songstress, Andreena, is a musical powerhouse. She began her career at the young age of three after her father, also a musician, realized her musical potential. By 2001 she entered the world of female R&B groups as a member of the Canadian trio, X-Quisite, alongside MTV Canada host, Nicole Holness and Universal Motown’s Melanie Fiona. The group earned nominations for the Canadian Urban Music Awards and Juno Awards in 2003. Later Andreena established a solo career, and after releasing her first mix-tape, Ready to Fly in 2009, she signed on as a writer for Universal Music Publishing in 2010.

Today, Andreena records, composes and produces, independently, collaborating with industry veterans such as DMX (Album: Undisputed "Cold World" & "No Love"); among others, she has worked with Drake (The Comeback Season, “Closer”), The Bizness (Chris Brown, “No Bullshit”), Brian Michael Cox (Mary J.
