Reggae Icon EVER-G Wins the Big 3!

Saturday May 15th saw the staging of the 4th annual Virginia Reggae Music Awards (at East Queens Way & King Street, downtown Hampton, Virginia), and was also the evening that saw the Reggae Icon, EVER-G win three of the prestigious awards.

Nominated for Album of the Year (‘Jah Love’), Single of the Year (“Our Special Place”), and Favourite Artist, EVER-G first wowed the crowd with acoustic renditions of his own recordings and a stirring rendition of Bob Marley's "Redemption Song."  Not long after, the results were announced for Album of the Year, Single of the Year and Favourite artist with one name attached:  EVER-G!  With a surprise twist, EVER-G was presented with a 4th award (not previously announced) for garnering the most votes and winning in all the categories for which he was nominated in.

“I still can’t believe it,” said an excited EVER-G.  “I know I won; I just can’t believe that I took all three awards.  I am humbled and I wish my parents were here to share this joy with me.  They’re here with me in spirit!” It has been a long time, since those early days at Rusea's High School, where most fans heard EVER-G sing for the first time.  Fitting for an Icon, the audience stood to their feet in applause for EVER-G to which the Icon said:

“the road is not always smooth, and still isn't, but you have to be consistent with your message, stay positive, be true to yourself and your beliefs and never ever take anyone or anything for granted.  Calling on radio jocks, promoters and venue owners, give independent artists & bands a chance - listen to what we have to offer, you might be pleasantly surprised if and when you do so.”

To the fans, EVER-G acknowledged that without them, there is no industry and thanked them for their votes.  He vowed that he will not let them down in the coming year and is confident that with their support, he can achieve greater heights.

On July 31st, 2011, EVER-G will be performing in Toronto at the famed Lula Lounge for an evening of Reggae Vibrations!

Reggae Icon EVER-G Releases a Mother’s Day Tribute!

For millions of people around the world, Mother’s Day is one of the most special on the calendar.  It’s the day that most celebrate all the things their Moms, Grandmother’s, Aunt’s and Surrogate Mom’s have done for them over the years.

Reggae Icon, EVER-G has released a song in celebration of his Mom and all mothers around the world called “Miss Beautiful!”

Taken from his CD entitled ‘Independence,’ EVER-G loving lays out the reasons why his Mom is beautiful which is a sentiment echoed by many.  The icon sings:  "dearest Mother / I Love you / always have / always will ... thank you for caring when no one else cared / I thank you for listening when I needed an ear / thank you for loving me / freely and unconditionally / for as long as I live / you will always be / Miss Beautiful to me ...."

“My Mom has always been so supportive of my career.  She was there with me at my first performance, so I feel I have to sing a song just for her so she knows how much she means to me.  I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for my Mom!”

The song was widely released today to thousands of DJ’s across the L3 Music Distribution network.  DJ Wiz, from CHRY 105.5 FM feels the song is one that “can be played at all times of the year, not just Mother’s Day,” while Tony Carr in the Washington DC area says his listeners are “huge fans of EVER-G’s so this song will receive a lot of play!”  In the UK, Sir Daddy D from Reggae4Us.com applauds EVER-G for making this song saying “we need more music to celebrate women and all the good they do for us men.”

The Icon has been nominated for 3 awards at the Virginia Reggae Awards and is racking up votes at the website (http://www.virginiareggaeawards.com/votes/all/) so make your vote count too!  Voting ends on May 13th, 2011, and the awards will be held on May 14th at East Queen’s Way & King Street downtown Hampton, Virginia.

Reggae Icon, EVER-G Snags 3 Nominations at Annual Awards!

EVER-G, Virginia’s Reggae music icon, has snagged three music awards nominations from the Virginia Reggae Music Awards continuing his roll of good news!

Nominated for Album of the Year (‘Jah Love’), Single of the Year (“My Special Place”), and Favourite Artist, fans have spoken overwhelmingly as to what they think of the icon’s music!

The album, Jah Love, gives fans an abundance of reasons to have faith in Jah, while it also uplifts their spirits to know that all obstacles will be overcome, and they will be successful with their goals.  “My Special Place,” is a song about that special person who knows, loves & appreciates the “real me” & not someone they want me to be.  Because this person takes the time to know me, she is taking me to higher heights and giving me new experiences, taking me to places (Our Special Place) I have never been & might never have gone, had it not been for her.

“I am really honored to have these nominations,” said EVER-G after his performance at Hampden Sydney College, Hampden Sydney, VA last weekend.  “Hearing what the fans think of my music is a blessing, and earning nominations from the Virginia Reggae Awards is prestigious!  I am truly blessed as a human being and more so as a Recording Artist.”

When the Virginia Reggae Awards first began four years ago, EVER-G was named Reggae Ambassador for his years of performing and representing Reggae from Virginia on a global level.

The Virginia Reggae Awards take place on Saturday May 14th, 2011 location is the intersection of East Queens Way & King Street, downtown Hampton, Virginia.
