Celebrate the preservation of the Arts in Canada's Capital

The second edition of Art Child 2013 will be taking place on Sunday, January, 27th, 2013 at The Yow, 172 Dalhousie Street, unit 200 with the collaboration of our biggest supporter, Ottawa Carleton University community radio, CKCU FM 93.1.

Art Child 2013, will debut this year from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday, January 27th, 2013, and remained a free event once again, rain or shine. The workshops will begin at 1:00 pm and would focused strictly in encouraging creative outlets of expression through painting, poetry, design, music and other art forms. Art Child will be ending with a fashion show and a live performance from Baiyu.

The ultimate goal of Art Child is to provide the opportunity for children, to partake in activities that are no longer readily available within the school system. Workshops and classes such as dance, creative written expression, painting and acting are all being slowly but surely eliminated and an event such Art Child, offer the chance to continue the artistic expression of our children outside of the classroom.

The first edition of Art Child, a free event for children, was a great success. To keep Art Child free in 2013 and in the remaining future, we need the help of the community. In Da Industry and CKCU Fm will be fund rising throughout this year leading up to Art Child 2013. Our goal is to make $5000.00 to keep Art Child a free children event.

The Ottawa Rhythm Festival 2012!

The Ottawa Rhythm Festival invites you to join them at the inaugural festival on Saturday September 1st, 2012!

The focus of the festival is to celebrate Caribbean, Latin and Soul music, with an added feature of sporting events taking place at and during the festival; this is the premier annual festival of artistic and cultural event within the National Capital Region (NCR) in Canada.

As a non-profit organization, the goal of the festival is to recreate the Caribbean, Latin, and Soul music experience. Entertainment will consist of local, international and professional headliners. Multicultural performance and informal jam sessions are also envisioned as the festival will provide a vehicle to bridge gaps, and explore new options in interpersonal, cultural and artistic experiences.

The 2012 inaugural Festival will dovetail nicely with Jamaica and Trinidad 50th anniversary celebrations and provide an upbeat relaxed and collaborative setting for artists and attendee of all ages.
