Date Change: Jae Blaze hosts audition for dancers October 4!

Jae Blaze hosts audition for dancers October 4!

The heavy rain associated with Tropical Storm Nicole have forced the management team of artiste Razor B to change the date of the dance auditions with international choreographer, Jae Blaze, from Sunday, October 3  to Monday, October 4.

The Canada-based Jae Blaze, who just concluded a tour with Grammy winner Black Eyed Peas, is scheduled to arrive in the island Sunday morning. She is scouting between 10 and 12 dancers to perform in the music video for Razor B’s breakout single, Hot Girls To  The Ring. Already the local dance community is excited at the opportunity to work with this talented and well-connected choreographer and Jae herself is looking forward to her first official video shoot in her homeland – Jamaica.

Earlier this year, Jae choreographed the electrifying dance routine by Bree Wasylenko and Edgar Gilbert-Reyes on the popular television show So You Think You Can Dance Canada.  The routine, was performed to Vybz Kartel’s hit song, Clarks.  Jae also choreographed dance for the ‘Songs Segment’ at the 81st Academy Awards (held in Hollywood on February 22, 2009), and for the movies “Make It Happen,” starring  Mary Elizabeth Winstead, “The Cheetah Girls” starring Raven SymonĂ©, and “New York Minute” starring Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen.

Jae understands that in order to get there, dancers have to go through the early stages which includes music videos.   “Some of the first people who embraced me along my journey were music video directors like Hype Williams who directed Nelly Furtado’s song “On The Radio,” Little X (now named Mr. X) who directed Sean Paul’s song Get Busy and Kardinal Offishall’s Belly Dancer.  That’s why this casting call for dancers is special to me – I know what it can do for a dancers’ career!”

When asked why this shoot is so special to Jae, she said “shooting a video in my home country of Jamaica, and to a song as hot as ‘Hot Girls to the Ring,’ yuh done know!”

Dancers are invited to attend Victoria House, located at 11 Lindsay Crescent on October 3rd, 2010 at 12:00pm for auditions.  Jae Blaze will personally be on hand to choose the dancers who will work best for the video’s dance segment.  The video shoot will take place at various locations in Kingston on October 5 and 6.

Jae Blaze Calls On All Dancers for October 3rd!

If anyone knows what it is to work their way up from the bottom to the top in the world of dance and music visualization, its Toronto native Jae Blaze.

Beginning her dance career at a time when Dance was not such a major focus for vocal artists performing, Jae has come a long way!  In 2010, she choreographed the electrifying dance routine by Bree Wasylenko and Edgar Gilbert-Reyes on the hit television show So You Think You Can Dance Canada.  The routine, was performed to Vybz Kartel’s hit song, “Clarks.” Jae also choreographed dance for the ‘Songs Segment’ at the 81st Academy Awards (held in Hollywood on February 22nd, 2009), and for the movies “Make It Happen,” starring  Mary Elizabeth Winstead, “The Cheetah Girls” starring Raven SymonĂ©, and “New York Minute” starring Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen.

The casting call that Jae is referring to is for Dancehall artist Razor B’s hit song “Hot Girls to the Ring” which is receiving significant airplay on stations Irie FM, Zip FM and Fame FM within Jamaica, and a host of radio stations internationally.  The video, which will be directed by Wayne Lowers of Burnt Facez Productions will use Jae’s choreography experience and expertise for the dancers routines.

The video shoot will take place at various locations in Kingston on October 4th and 5th, 2010.

Razor B gets ‘Blazed’ for Hot Girls in The Ring video

Razor B gets ‘Blazed’ for Hot Girls in The Ring video

With his recently released song “Hot Girls in The Ring” playing on all the major radio stations in Jamaica including Irie FM, Zip FM, and Fame FM, and with increasing radio play in the UK, Italy and Canada, On Time Music Group recording artist Razor B gets ‘Blazed’ for the video of his song.  Jae Blaze of the hugely popular television show, So You Think You Can Dance Canada, has agreed to put her special touch on this project by choreographing the dance routine of the video’s lead dancer.

Calling on all dancers, Razor B has set an audition date of October 3rd for dancers and dance crews to put their spin to “Hot Girls in The Ring”.  The audition will be judged by Jae Blaze who will be on break from her tour with six-time Grammy winners and multi-platinum selling group, Black Eyed Peas.

Jae’s choreography has come to the forefront recently as she is recognized as one of the hottest choreographers to come out of Canada. She  has worked with several platinum selling artists from all genres including Nelly Furtado, Sean Paul, Kelis and Naughty by Nature to name a few.  Known to set the stage on fire, Jae consistently raises the bar and changes the way audiences perceive sound and movement whenever her choreograph hits the stage.

“When I heard Razor B’s single, I knew it was a song I had to get involved with through choreography,” said Jae from her dance studio.  “This is one of those songs that’s just made for dancers; one that will allow me to display the visual aspect of Razor B’s music,”   she added.

About the choreography of the video, Razor B adds “I’m really excited to know that a person of Jae’s caliber likes the song, and wants to choreograph the dance routine.  I know the video is going to be enjoyed by the fans, just like the song!”

The video will be shot and directed by Wayne Lowers of Burnt Facez.  In addition to radio, sound system selectors and mixtape DJ’s have included the song in their set lists and the clubs have been heating up with “Hot Girls In The Ring”.
