Salute to Spragga Benz - Top Shottas Anthem

In honour of a great artist and a living legend, recording artist and producer Xyclone took to the studio and voiced an amazing tribute to one of Jamaica’s best, Spragga Benz, who is also became world-renowned for his acting debut in the hit Jamaican movie Shottas.

The track is called “Top Shottas Anthem” on the Top Shottas Riddim and features former Gaza Empire member, Deva Bratt. It is on the new RSQTHP label, in collaboration with Black Out Squad and 3rd Floor Productions. It was released in September 2012.

Xyclone looks up to Spragga for his lyrical versatility and talent to not only perform on stage but also to act in movies. “In my opinion, Spragga a di real Top Shotta so that’s why we [RSQTHP] built the riddim and named it Top Shottas Riddim,” said Xyclone. He also made it a point to mention that Spragga is a mentor to him as well as other young artists and ghetto youths.

Already “Top Shottas Anthem” has gone over 8,000 views on YouTube. Also, with an impressive 20,000 plus views, Stylo G’s hit “Bolt” is another tribute to another living legend, Jamaican track superstar Usain Bolt, which has skyrocketed Top Shottas Riddim to an overwhelming anticipation for the release of the compilation. There are other popular artists who have jumped on board like D’Angel, Red Rat, Magazeen, Bawse Dawg, Delly Ranx, Esco, Ninja Kid, Ratigan and Brik Tears.

Delly Ranx Property Tax Riddim Cracks iTunes Top 100 for Reggae and Dancehall!

Delly Ranx and the team at Pure Music Productions is in celebratory mode as news of their recently released Property Tax riddim cracks the iTunes Top 100 list, debuting at #91 for best Reggae and Dancehall releases.

Reflecting the musical tastes of fans who purchase Reggae and Dancehall on iTunes, the charting of the Property Tax riddim is a welcome surprise to the team who just released the riddim last week (January 29th) via the distribution company 21st Hapilos.

Featuring performances by Delly Ranx, Buju Banton, Sizzla, Macka Diamond and ZJ Liquid, the riddim has become one of the most played and most added to rotation in the US, Canada and the Caribbean.  In the UK, the riddim was debuted by popular radio host, Robbo Ranx on BBC 1Xtra who, received such an overwhelming response, the broadcast had to be made available for fans to listen again and download.  Of the riddim Robbo says “excellent Dancehall production that will be played throughout 2013 for sure.”

With the expectation that the popularity will move the riddim higher on the chart, Delly Ranx commented “I love my fans and thank them for supporting the Property Tax riddim.  For the news fans we’re picking up along the way, they can expect more great music, more pure music!”

One of the most popular songs on the riddim comes from Captain Barkey whose song “Property Tax” named the riddim.  As one of the last recordings the artist performed before his untimely passing, fans are enjoying the humor behind the concept of paying ‘property tax!’

Buju Banton’s song “Wine and Bubble,” Liquid’s song “Wine For Me” and Ratigan’s song “Know Bout This” will each be released as singles on February 5th through 21st Hapilos and are expected to chart individually.

Delly Ranx Shares ‘The Next Chapter’ With The World!

Dancehall and Reggae veteran Delly Ranx has released his music video for “The Next Chapter” and fans can’t get enough!

Shot entirely on location in Kingston, Jamaica, Delly teamed with Terminal 4 Media to create a story depicting various stages of Delly’s life.  With an opening scene of a book’s pages turning, the video takes a first look at the artist speaking with a humorous impersonation of Larry King whom Delly calls ‘Harry King,’ then throws back to recording sessions in the studio.

Exercising creativity, Terminal 4 Media then flashes to a family seemingly going through difficulties which is juxtaposed by a decision the male character must make:  a life of fast money, or a life honoring Mommy.  “We thought it would be good to not only show off Delly, but show off a real life scenario that everyone can relate to.  We all face difficulties in some way or another, so this was important for us to show.”

An exclusive first peak of the video was shared with Delly’s closest friends and family who were so excited about the video’s outcome, Terminal 4 Media’s YouTube channel received an unprecedented number of hits in a short period of time.  “Everyone who’s seen the video say we did a great job and that fills me with pride” said Delly from his studio in Orlando.  “We want the fans to connect to the video and they have so I’m pleased.”

The Next Chapter is the lead song from Delly Ranx newest studio album of the same name which was released July, 2012.  The song is currently topping charts in North America, Europe and the artists home of Jamaica.  The music video acts as the eyes and ears of his fans.

The self reflective song, which discusses changes in the artists personal and professional life, embraces a new path and direction.  Transitioning from yesterday to today, Delly includes fans on the newest chapter of his journey.  The song is an international success.

The 18 track disc is available on all major digital retail outlets including iTunes and Amazon.  Physical format discs are available via www.dellyranx.com.

Delly Ranx Video for The Next Chapter Near Complete!

Despite minor scheduling setbacks caused by Hurricane Sandy, Dancehall DJ and veteran entertainer Delly Ranx was in Jamaica this past week shooting his music video for his Top 10 song The Next Chapter.

The lead song from his album of the same name, tops charts in North America, Europe and his home of Jamaica, prompting the artist to add a visual element to compliment what fans hear on the radio.

Teaming with veteran music video producer Terminal 4 Media, scenes for the video were shot at various locations throughout Kingston, and concluded with a full day of indoor shooting in front of a green screen.

As if speaking to fans directly, Delly sat on a couch while reasoning with the camera, which acts as the eyes and ears of his fans.  In some scenes, the artist reasons in relaxed casual attire, in other scenes, a little more formal.

“The video is more like a story about the next chapter of my life,” said Delly while on break from shooting.  “People will relate to it because as the lyrics say ‘different meditation for a different stage’ which is an experience we all have.  We all go through changes especially as we mature which is what the song is about.”
