Collie Buddz Music Featured on Basketball Wives!

Reggae music has achieved another milestone, and this time it’s thanks to Reggae star Collie Buddz.  On the May 7th airing of VH1’s popular reality show, Basketball Wives, Collie’s song “I Feel So Good” was played, making it a first for the worlds’ popular genre!

Produced by ZJ Sparks for Twelve 9 Records and Dan Grossman and Michael Gore for Dynasty Music, the upbeat track grooves listeners with its use of synthesized trumpets, and playful Xylophone while Collie sings the addictive punch line “I feel so good, I don’t know what’s come over me!”

Set at the show’s closing scene, personalities Susan and Keisha can be seen bouncing to the track while they play in the water with the Dolphins in Tahiti as the song plays in the background.  “I literally felt good when I got the news of the songs placement on the show” said Collie when reached by phone in Bermuda.  “It’s nice to see Reggae profiled in such a big way!”

In Jamaica, ZJ Sparks and the Twelve 9 Records team celebrated “this is the first time a Reggae song has been featured on Basketball Wives.  This is a first and a huge accomplishment,” said Sparks.

Popular social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook came to life as fans got the pleasant surprise while watching their favourite show.  On ZJ Sparks’ timeline, fans tweeted to the producer “OMG!! Who else is super excited about Collie Buddz being featured on Basketball Wives tonight?!,” while fans on Collie’s timeline added “Hearing @CollieBuddz on Basketball wives was the best highlight for me tonight!”

Collie Buddz song, “I Feel So Good” is a part of the Kush Morning Riddim line up which also features Serani, Ikaya and Jah Vinci.  The riddim is available on iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/kush-morning/id499341564).

Just Released! L3 Magazine - October, 2011 ft. Collie Buddz

L3 Magazine Presents Bermudas Collie Buddz,
Miami’s Honorebel and
Jamaica’s Come Back Queen, Milk!

Canada’s leading Caribbean-Urban online publication, L3 Magazine, has just released their October edition which sees the team connect fans and readers with Bermudas Reggae powerhouse, Collie Buddz, Honorebel, whose recorded with Pitbull, T-Pain, Tao Cruiz and more, and Amelia ‘Milk’ Sewell who’s overcome great obstacles to be back in the spotlight where she belongs.

Interviewed in Toronto, Canada, Collie Buddz opens up on why Toronto is so important to him, and why performing in the T. Dot is like being at home.  The star also opens up about performing at SXSW, what is and isn’t coming up on his next album, and the recipe for a successful career in music.

Honorebel is a recording artist who truly has no boundaries.  His music spans the genres of Dance, Pop, Reggaetone, Reggae, Dancehall and even Opera, and is a creative energy that’s experienced by fans every day.  He’s performed at the MTV Awards in Russia, and says success is a journey, not a destination.  The artist also reveals his spiritual side with readers, and uses the analogy ‘my music is like the waves of the ocean, it just flows!’

When it comes to Amelia ‘Milk’ Sewell, no other female personality has left such on impact on Team L3 as she has.  Our photographers were smitten, our designers were smitten as was the magazine’s editor.  So why do some people in Jamaica hate her?  There are some who didn’t think she would make this far, but she has.  Find out how she’s doing it, and some of the plans she has for her music career as well as the background production story on the controversial television show ‘Teacha’s Pet’ starring Vybz Kartel.

Heike Wollenweber writes an excellent article on L.I.A.T.I. and its US Virgin Islands origins.  L.I.A.T.I. is the acronym for Love Is All There Is, and was created by Cheryl Francis, wife of the Virgin Islands Lt. Governor Gregory R. Francis.  L.I.A.T.I. is a project from Stop the Bleeding Inc whose initiative is to reduce violence in communities and spread positive messages.

Additional highlights in the October edition of L3 Magazine include Serena Williams, Kenyatta Houston from NASCAR, the Earth Strong Riddim produced by Grammy Award winner Delly Ranx, new music from Xterminator Productions as well as our take on why Farrah Burns is Hip Hop’s beacon!  We also give the ladies some hot chocolate by way of Mr. October, Christian Brown who is a model, actor, and in our case, a centerfold!  All this and more awaits!

The Welcome ‘Matte’

The team at L3 Magazine is pleased to announce Londyn Nikole to the fold as the magazine’s Beauty Editor, and Edward Bishop, the companies Intern.  Here’s a little more info on both!

Edward Bishop comes from Jamaican parentage and has a keen eye and ear for all things fashion and music related.  As L3’s intern, Edward will be blogging, filtering submissions to the magazine and researching trends to be covered by L3 Designs and L3 Beauty!

Londyn Nikole With is a creative artist who uses makeup as her narrator to illustrate well told stories. Versed in several areas and arenas, Londyn has worked with some of the world’s most recognizable faces and brands including BET, MTV, Harriet Cole (Editor for EBONY Magazine), Natasha Bradley (Jive/Dark Child Recording Artist), Julito McCullum (HBO “The Wire”), supermodel Beverly Johnson and esteemed eco-model Summer Rayne Oakes.

Her client list also includes rising actress Chyna Layne from the movie "Precious”, CW’s Vampire Diaries Katerina Graham and VH1's reality star Jessica Rich aka Rabbit.  She is also the Key MUA for the new Clark Brothers film "DISCIPLE" starring Taral Hicks (Belly, A Bronx Tale), BET host Alesha Renee, and Elizabeth Ahmed (Cavier) from VH1’s show “For the Love of Ray J.”

Last Night We Fell In Love With Pee Wee!

Last night we fell in Love with the DJ, and the DJ is none other than Queen's very own Pee Wee from Pretty Posse.  So how did this happen?!

Collie Buddz performed in Toronto on Tuesday, and Pee Wee was the master of Ceremonies (MC).  What immediately struck us about Pee Wee is his immediate command of the audience.

Taking the stage, Pee Wee made it clear what the rules are, what's acceptable and what's not,
and the crowd fully complied, giving the salute to indicate they've understood every word said.  Once that deed was done, the mastery of Pee Wee's importance became more clear!

In addition to filling in part vocals for Collie while he's performing, Pee Wee is the hype man which keeps the crowd rocking when Collie needs to drink some water, he's the on-stage sound check man constantly making sure the levels are right with all the instruments (if they're not he gets the attention of the engineer to fix it), he's the band and back-up singer motivator, he's the liaise between the promoter and Team Collie letting the promoter know what's needed, what's missing, or if everything is fine, and, he's the crowd vibe-meter.
If he senses something is missing, he's the man to fill in the missing link.  All of this while knowing the entire set list backward and forward.  Did I mention how he handles the rush of ladies backstage?!

Believe it or not, Pee Wee, is the one who's in control of the show!

We know several DJ's who tour with artists, and no one really understands just how much work you haveto put in to make sure all is balanced.  We also don't think people really understand (the common public) how integral the DJ is to the entire operation.  Pee Wee is an
example of how to do things the right way.  If you're a fan reading this and wonder why an artist has to travel with his DJ, we hope this explains the reason's why.

The Famous Face Loves Pee Wee.  We Love what he does and how he does it, and we Love all the Pee Wee's of the world (all the DJ's)!

♣ HOTTT New Reggae! ♣ Collie Buddz - Holidays!

Greetings!

The Holiday's bring out the best in most people
most of the time, and is an occasion to hear the
best from people again!

Collie Buddz, whom I consider to be one of the
most entertaining younger artists has just released
his newest chune called "Holiday's" which I have
permission to share with you (thanks Pee Wee)!

The title might be a little mis-leading in that it's
called 'Holiday's' but not the 'Christmas' holiday's
so much as it's about needing to take a 'holiday'
to escape the pressures of work, life etc.  Having
said that, this is a perfect chune to play when you
transition between a Reggae set and 'Christmas'
set.  As well, it's a great chune to play period.

Set to a mature Reggae 'come and come een' vibes,
Collie takes us nice and easy as he sings "living
a week to week / Friday come a likkle paycheck /
9-5 it ain't workign out / so / gotta take a little time
out for myself..."  Trust me, the phone line at the
radio station will be like a Christmas Tree, and the
mixtape listeners will be hitting the back button.
Collie connects the thoughts of the listeners via
song!

Broadcasting at 320kbps and 76 BPM, catch the
HOTTT new Reggae chune from Collie Buddz
called "Holiday's" here and make sure you request
it on your favourite radio station:
