Chaka Khan Inducted into Apollo Legends Hall of Fame!

The Apollo Theater announced today that Chaka Khan will be inducted into the prestigious Apollo Legends Hall of Fame on Monday, June 10 in celebration of Ms. Khan’s 40th anniversary in the music business! The Spring Gala Concert will include special tribute performances to the legendary singer by Mary J. Blige, Patti LaBelle and more!

Ms. Khan will join past honorees Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Quincy Jones, Patti LaBelle, Smokey Robinson, Lionel Richie, James Brown, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Etta James, Little Richard and Ella Fitzgerald.

Apollo Heats Up With Ledisi + George Clinton!

On Sunday, October 23 at 7 p.m., R&B recording sensation Ledisi returns to the legendary Apollo Theater to celebrate her new album Pieces of Me.

The Grammy-nominated singer is performing hits from her albums Lost & Found, Turn Me Loose, Soulsinger: The Revival and more. Singer/songwriter Timothy Bloom opens with a special performance.

Tuesday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m., it'll be one city under a groove in this all-star tribute to George Clinton, the "Godfather" of funk, under the musical direction of Ray Chew Live (American Idol, BET Awards, Showtime at the Apollo) and hosted by Dr. Bob Lee (WBLS). We'll celebrate George and his 50 years in the funk and soul business with an amazing variety of P-Funk friends, musical collaborators, and other guests. The evening will also commemorate the lives of Parliament/Funkadelic members no longer with us.

The tribute features Paul Shaffer, Nona Hendryx, Vernon Reid, Fab 5 Freddy, Dallas Austin, Full Force, Sheila E., Tye Tribbett and Doug E. Fresh.
