♠ HOTTT New Remixes ♠ Busy Busy - I Keep Getting A Busy Signal!

Greetings!

As I write and you read, Busy Signal is
gearing up for extensive travel!  He has
dates booked in the Caribbean and Europe,
and my crystal ball is telling me that this
spring will bring a few surprise visits to
a few surprise places, much to the delight
of fans and promoters!

In terms of Busy’s music, the DJ’s are telling
me ‘dih chunes dem gone,’ and so is mediafire.com.
To date, Busy has over 4,000 downloads
for “Food Fih Dih Pot” on the Duck Dance
Riddim re-released by Donovan Germaine
for Penthouse Records.  So what's next you
ask?!  Remixes!

We kick off the Busy remix session with the
chune “One More Night” on the Far East
riddim.  This is rub-a-dub at its best, and filled
with vibes!  We also have “Night Shift” on
the Fade Away riddim, and if that’s not enough,
Richie Blindz put Busy Signal and Rihanna
together on a “Rude Boy” remix.  Lawd – dih
way dih ting rude fih real!

Broadcasting at 320kbps, catch Busy Signal’s
“One More Night” and “Night Shift” remixes,
as well as Busy's midas touch to “Rude Boy”

►►► Classic Friday ►►► Not the Birds & the Bees but the Bee’s and the Gee’s!

Greetings!

The 1970’s was the era for Disco.  Dance floors
across North America were crowded with dancers
who were doing the ‘jive,’ ‘the Texas two step’
and the world famous ‘hustle!’  John Travolta
was the man of the moment thanks to the movie
Saturday Night Fever which showcased the fun
and energy of Disco as a movement, as well as
the bounce of the music.

One group who contributed significantly to the
movement was the Bee Gees!  Barry, Andy and
Maurice Gibb were known for their harmonies
and sweet falsetto’s.  That pairing made their
songs instantly recognizable, and gave us hit
chunes such as “Jive Talking,” “Staying Alive”
and the theme song for the movie“Saturday
Night Fever!”

The Gibbs won numerous awards including the
Grammy’s, the American Music Awards, the Brit
Awards and the World Music Awards.  They have
written and produced music for several notable
talents, and have had their songs covered by Nina
Simone, Diana Ross, Al Green, Eric Clapton, Elvis
Presley, and Beyonce, whose cover of the song
“Emotions” spent time on the Billboard charts!

For those of us who are 70’s babies, we can tell
you that there was no better time for music (all
genres) than that time!

Broadcasting at 320kbps, catch a few cuts of the
classic group the Bee Gees, which includes a hot
remix of the song “Inside Out” by Andy Caldwell

Throwback Thursday! Ah Fih Fly Out Riddim

Greetings!

The first engine powered airplane to fly did
so in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina in 1903.
At the design of Orville and Wilbur Wright,
their patented 'flying machine' revolutionised
how we have come to know travel today!

Daddy Lizard recorded these famous words
in 1986:  Anyting mih say / unno say "haffi
fly out" / pon a British Airway / pon dih new
concord / we haffi fly out ...!  A popular expression
after the release of this chune and riddim was
"foreign caan miss me!"

Produced by Winston Riley for the Techniques
label, Daddy's chune named the 'Ah Fi Fly
Out' riddim which was an immediate hit with
fans, as most were eager to 'fly out.'  Some
of the countries most travelled to were England,
the U.S. and Canada.  Despite what some
younger generation artists think, Artists travelled
to places like Japan and Germany regularly!

Trust me when I tell you, this is the type of
riddim to a 'buss' a dance if dropped at the right
time with the right speech!

Broadcasting at 320kbps, catch Daddy Lizard,
Sanchez, Flourgon and Courtney Melody on
the 'Ah Fih Fly Out' riddim here:

P.S.  Courtney Melody's chune "Bad Boy" was
featured on the recently released Winston Riley
Quintessential Techniques for the Reggae
Anthology series for VP Records.  If you don't
have this double disk, it's a must add to your
collection!

♦ ♦ ♦ Do You Rememba?! ♦ ♦ ♦ Frighty ft. Colonel Mite - Raggamuffin Love!

Greetings!

I hope you had a GREAT weekend that was
filled with music, music, music!

If I say the names Frighty and Colonel Mite,
you probably don't remember who on earth
I'm talking about, but if I sing the words
'raggamuffin love,' it might spark a memory!

Released on the Priority Records label in the
mid 1990's, the singing and DJ duo of Frighty
and Colonel Mite had a hit record on their hands
with the chune "Raggamuffin Love."

With simplistic words, their message was catchy
and energetic to all listeners, and made them
think about making it in Life!

Seeing that you play so much music for the
enjoyment of your listeners, today, take a minute
to play a song for the enjoyment of you!

Broadcasting at 320kbps, and wishing you all
the positive vibes life can bring, catch the chune
here:
